Here you can find excerpts from conferences and speeches in which I show how anthropology brings unlimited possibilities for ways of seeing, transforming issues into empowering opportunities.
My approach, which implies an ethnographic lens, seeks to understand and respond to the impact of trauma on people’s lives, promoting environments that foster healing and understanding

We are still very reluctant to talk about child abuse. Words become heavy, we often seem to run out of breath. Nevertheless, something is changing, both on a personal and global level.

My intervention positions ethnography as an adaptive, interdisciplinary, and ethically grounded method that can both explore and accompany processes of healing.

My talk reflected on how public libraries can become spaces of healing, prevention, and care, with a focus on community well-being—starting from early childhood.

A contribution dedicated to the security of digital spaces: a concept so topical that it seems almost overdue, and which deserves to be discussed, questioned, reimagined.

Child sexual abuse leaves profound scars. Trust, intimacy, and self-worth are often compromised, making it difficult to build healthy romantic relationships.

I briefly presented the long-term consequences that child sexual abuse has on males once they become adults. This topic was observed from an anthropological perspective, in order to understand the cultural dimensions of the issue.

My speech focuses on the importance of designing spaces that address the specific needs of survivors of childhood abuse. Architecture has a profound impact on our perception of safety and psychological well-being, especially for those who bear experiences of trauma.

Current surveys suggest that practising autoethnography can assist CSA survivors in sharing their stories, fostering healing and resilience. Emerging evidence points to the significance of trauma-informed anthropological teaching and practice.

One of the unique aspects of my research is the use of visual ethnography to complement traditional interviews. This approach provides a vibrant and tangible lens to understand how survivors with OCD reconstruct and reclaim their spaces.

The ongoing fieldwork highlights the dual impact of CSA and disability on survivors’ sense of safeness, belonging, and identity within their living spaces. Certain spatial arrangements can trigger traumatic memories, while others foster a sense of security and healing.
