Siamo ancora molto reticenti a parlare di abusi sull’infanzia. Le parole si fanno pesanti, a volte sembra che manchi il fiato. Eppure, qualcosa sta cambiando, sia a livello personale che globale.
In che modo la ricerca qualitativa, e in particolare quella etnografica, può offrire profondità e voce ai dati statistici? Come può orientare le future indagini quantitative?

Come la ricerca etnografica (soprattutto quella che coinvolge persone e comunità traumatizzate) può contribuire al processo di convivenza col trauma dei i partecipanti.
Il mio intervento riflettere su come le biblioteche pubbliche possano diventare luoghi di prevenzione e cura, mettendo al centro il benessere emotivo delle persone, a partire dall’infanzia.
Un ambiente che sembra sicuro agli adulti o alle istituzioni può non esserlo per adolescenti vulnerabili. La sicurezza non si costruisce solo con filtri, regolamenti o tecnologie: è soprattutto una questione di partecipazione.
L’abuso sessuale durante l’infanzia lascia segni invisibili ma profondi. Questi eventi spesso comprometto l'espressione della fiducia verso un partner e l’intimità con qualcuno per cui si prova attrazione.
Le conseguenze a lungo termine che gli abusi sessuali subiti durante l’infanzia producono sugli uomini, una volta adulti. Il tema viene osservato da una prospettiva antropologica, per comprenderne le complessità culturale.
Sull’importanza di progettare spazi che rispondano alle esigenze specifiche di persone sopravvissute ad abusi in età infantile. L’architettura ha un impatto profondo sulla percezione di sicurezza soprattutto per chi porta con sé esperienze di trauma.
Attraverso interviste in profondità e metodi basati sull’etnografia visiva, sto documentando gli elementi visivi e spaziali associati alle loro esperienze domestiche. Questo approccio olistico contribuisce allo sviluppo di pratiche creative "informate" sul trauma.
Il linguaggio influenza il modo in cui percepiamo e interagiamo con il mondo. Per le persone sopravvissute ad abusi sessuali infantili che convivono anche con un DOC, il linguaggio orienta la "bussola" del trauma nella gestione quotidiana di questa condizione.
Il lavoro sul campo evidenzia il duplice impatto del trauma e della disabilità sul senso di sicurezza, appartenenza e identità provato dalle persone sopravvissute agli abusi infantili. Alcune soluzioni di spazio possono scatenare ricordi traumatici oppure favorire un senso di sicurezza e di riabilitazione.
Tendiamo a pensare alla casa come al luogo più sicuro che esista. Eppure, per chi è sopravvissuto a forme di abuso – specialmente domestico o intrafamiliare – la casa può essere un luogo complesso, contraddittorio, ambivalente.
